Thinking of going to Cardiff as missed Bristol, so does anyone know how many this place holds? _________________ Kiters - |

I was gonna pop over to paris to see them in dec but cant convince any mates to! Just had it confirmed that Cardiff Uni Great Hall is 1600 capacity. I didnt manage to get tickets for Bristol or time off work but a few mates went up and said it was the best gig they've ever seen! _________________ You can win the rat race, but your still a rat |

I'll be driving over from Bristol for this, and don't know Cardiff very well. Any suggestions on where to park? Or indeed finding the venue once I have Or even a pub to meet up in beforehand.
Oh yeah, I'll have a spare seat in the car if anyone else is coming from Bristol.
Cheers,
I. _________________ 'in the end, all you can hope for

| If you head towards the CIA, there's a really good car park that charges about £5 a day which is loads better than the other car parks. The venue is pretty easy to find - they'll be loads of signs to the university and the students union is right on the main road. |

Yeah the car park by the CIA isn't too bad, although I have a feeling that opposite the union where the museum and City Hall are, there's a parking service which is free after 6 or so? I live right next to the union so won't have the parking problem but last year when I lived away, me and my girlfriend went to see The Maccabees in the union and we parked near the museum and didn't have to pay anything...as far as I can remember anyway.
Remember don't go up the main steps to the union because that will take you to Solus (the room where nightclubs take place). You'll be asked by bouncers to go back and walk over the bridge across the railway and go to the back of the union where the Great Hall is.
Just a bit of advice! |

Fabulous as usual last night Only slightly spoiled by some silly, drunk, welsh bint who pushed and shoved enough to piss off everyone around her - she ended up punching gassjack a few times before she was persuaded to f**k off and annoy someone else
But enough of that, setlist was as per normal (camera rather than boxer). I hadn't been paying too much attention to setlists so far, so I was delighted when they closed with fingers. ALAAG was amazing live, and the eerie hush as they started Last Day was great. Made me realise how much cheering there normally is as everyone recognises the start of each song. Oddly, Racing Rats seemed to get the biggest reception. It's a good song, sure, but not the one I'd be screaming at the intro for
The new backdrop is good too, and I think the light show has been ramped up a bit from previous tours. Like the stuttering flashes (as long as you don't have epilepsy...)
errrr... Cold Cave are indeed much better live than on record. TSDOLE didn't do much for me.
Nice to see all the usual suspects again, and to meet the lovely Sam for the first time. Seanii, I looked out for you, but I couldn't see you.
Oh yes, signposts in Cardiff are rubbish, and most of the main road from Cardiff to the Severn bridge seemed to be in the process of being dug up, which didn't help
Enjoy the rest of the tour, those of you who still have gigs to go to. Here's waiting for the next one.
I.
Crappy cameraphone pic of setlist, if anyone's interested:

Look what else we found:
Could have done without being punched in the head by a pissed up insane person but other than that the gig was amazing!
Fucking grim venue but good crowd and no one (near us) talked during NSBTW which was sweeeeeeet. _________________ 'Let me tell you the truth. The truth is what is, and what should be is a fantasy. A terrible, terrible lie that someone gave to the people long ago.' Lenny Bruce |
