| Just wondering if any other forum members are going to be attending the Chicago Editors show at the Vic theater on Feb 15th? |

Yes.
I am driving 4.5 hours from Michigan for the show. Shall be my 2nd time seeing this band; the first in Detroit, MI @ Majestic on Jan 26, 2008. There are literally three bands/artists I would travel such a distance for: Tool, Ian Brown & Editors. Been capturing shows since the 1980's; Editors, literally, blew me away with the energy, clarity, precision, skill & energy when I saw them live (I sort of went to see Louis XIV as well as Editors). Have seen well over 1,500 concerts including bands like Tool 30+, NIN +10, Belle & Sebastian +3, Oasis +10, way to many to list here, etc.
Somehow the Editors, by being what they are as a band, managed to put on one of the best performances I've seen. Dig the new album but my heart seems to be with AEHAS & Back Room including the b-sides (collected all vinyl except for 1st pressing of Bullets w/YAF). Definitely looking forward to this show. _________________ http://www.collectiveunconscious.org |

Some friends of mine are coming from Ann Arbor and I'll be in from Brighton for the Chicago show but we're staying in Chicago the entire weekend. I've seen the band three times in Europe but this will be my first stateside show |

Yes another forum member (Alakazam) and I are driving 2 hours from Wisconsin and we'll hopefully see you guys towards the front of the line
I'll probably ask if anyone is from the forums so we can chat about our love for Editors!
See you all there |

last night's show at the vic was an amazingly fortunate evening.
i had been procrastinating over getting these tickets for the past month and a half so i was hoping it wouldnt be sold out the night of and incredibly enough i was able to get a pair of tickets from a wonderful gentleman for 20$... thank god they were legit.
we were at the barrier, off to the left a little. i was running on 3 hours of sleep and battling a nasty cough so i was really trying to pay attention to everything. the vodka+cranberry worked wonders for my constitution
the antlers were pretty good for a few songs, and my friend and i were relieved that we didnt have to sit through another opener... no offense to the dig but i dont think i could've been so hyped up during editors' set if i had to last through another band.
editors as usual were absolutely amazing, i love their energy and every single show i've been to always has been their best. its taken me a lot to get into this new album but the songs sound fantastic live, as if this were why they were crafted. papillion turned the place into a club, i wish it had been longer
i didnt expect to get the meet and greet either, but what sweet guys, they even made sure they got to everyone.
im paying the price for all that activity today, but it was so fucking worth it |
