err actually all said and done, prolly not, as singles chart success is not the importance it used to be. and besides i dont think anyone is complaining more just debating the relevance of such things. if they broke the top 20 i would be more like... thats a bit of surprise lol
well lets face it no one is going to buy the album for £16 when you can buy it a lot cheaper elsewhere, _________________ Love on the filthy streets is so divine. |

Singles are DEAD, so who cares? and who really has the time to listen to the radio... RADIO, the word is so old I am still wondering how relevant this is for music in this day and age!? Anyway that's my own opinion... All I mean to say is that singles have long stopped being relevant for many a year now so who cares if it charted or flopped, their signification pale compared to what it meant in the 60s or even maybe in the 80s. What counts are albums and that's Editors' strong point. Surely it is better to have a number 1 album than a number 1 song which mean by today's standard that the worst songs have a better chance to chart that the good ones so well done for staying at the bottom with YDKL! _________________ I belong to where the angels die |

The relevance of the single is dead, yes, because if people like the song, they'll buy the album. But THEY DIDN'T BUY THE ALBUM! Therefore whatever way you look at the release of YDKL, it has failed to succeed.
Nobody expected it to go to number one, but it should have been top 100, don't you think? |

I totally agree. The singles may not matter but a) they did release one and a1) it didn't chart and a2) it failed boost the album sales. So the release of YDKL was a total shambles: a wrong choice (my opinion) and a totally listless format & b-side strategy (a fact). I guess in the end they may actually have lost money, since the video probably wasn't that cheap. |

I don't think it was a wrong choice of single though, I absolute love YDKL and rate it as one of the best songs on the album.
I don't generally look at how an album fares in the chart, I buy my music because I like it, not because it's in or out of the charts... how bad are the sales for ITL&OTE?? I assumed it had shot to number 1 on release? _________________ I belong to where the angels die |

It's amazing
I believe I said it a few times already in other threads but this must be my all time favourite remix of an Editors song. _________________ I'm not a boardie, I'm a registered user |

hmmm it is ok but not very interesting. ther are better mixes out there.
it is just not very exciting or uplifting as a dance track.
hard to see where this would get an airing _________________ Love on the filthy streets is so divine. |

Is already a certified gold record in the UK and doing great across Europe also.
We are all pretty pleased with that and immensely proud of the record.
Watch this space for what we do next. We are trying to do something interesting rather than following the same old tired formats.....no promises but we are trying! |
